WHERE UNICORNS ARE MADE
Our Lesson Program at Folklore Farm
“You’ll ♥️ This Farm”
At Folklore Farm, our lesson program is built on the belief that safe, correct, and thoughtful riding creates lasting partnerships between horse and rider. Every aspect of our teaching is centered on functional movement, proper biomechanics, and respect for the horse. This ensures not only rider progress but also the long-term comfort and happiness of our horses.
We are proud to offer instruction in multiple disciplines, giving riders the opportunity to explore different paths in their horsemanship journey.
Every rider is paired with one of our well-schooled, carefully selected lesson horses or ponies. These horses are chosen not only for their quality and training but also for their temperament and ability to support riders as true partners and teachers. Safety is always paramount, and our horses are integral to creating an environment where learning is secure, positive, and rewarding.
The benefits of our program extend far beyond the arena. Working with horses cultivates confidence, leadership, problem-solving, resilience, and empathy, life skills that riders carry with them everywhere.
At Folklore Farm, we don’t just teach lessons — we create an education in horsemanship. Riders leave our program not only more skilled but more connected, confident, and capable, both in and out of the saddle.

The foundation of all good riding. Riders will learn how to develop balance, suppleness, and harmony, while helping the horse become stronger, straighter, and more confident in its movement. Dressage at Folklore isn’t just about precision in the arena — it’s about teaching riders how to feel their horse, influence with subtlety, and create true partnership from the ground up.

Focusing first on strong flatwork, our jumping lessons will then guide riders to develop confidence, rhythm, and partnership over fences.

A unique way to connect with horses in harness, driving lessons offer riders the chance to learn a new skill, enjoy the tradition of carriage work, and experience teamwork from a different perspective.

Liberty lessons in clear communication and connection, where riders learn to guide and partner with their horse using body language and trust rather than tack. Liberty helps riders understand their horse on a deeper level, creating a bond that carries back into all other work.

Tiny Trot program (ages 3–6) provides a safe and joyful introduction to horses. Lessons at this level focus on building comfort, confidence, and respect for the horse in an age-appropriate and supportive environment.

Our Youth and Adult Amateur programs serve riders at every stage of development. Beginners learn the fundamentals of safe handling and balanced riding; intermediate riders refine skills and explore disciplines; advanced riders gain precision and partnership needed to succeed or achieve personal goals. At Folklore Farm, no ambition is placed above another — whether your dream is to ride a quiet trail, develop advanced dressage movements, or confidently canter a course, we'll help you get there.
